Cervical Cerclage (encerclage)- Cervical cerclage is performed as an attempt to prolong pregnancy in certain women who are at higher risk of preterm delivery. Cerclage placement may be indicated by a history of cervical insufficiency or by certain sonographic or physical exam findings in a current pregnancy. A cerclage is done in the second trimester of pregnancy to prevent preterm birth. Why is a cerclage placed? Sometimes the cervix isn't strong enough to stay closed as the pregnancy grows. This weakness is called cervical insufficiency (formerly called an incompetent cervix). The procedure is safe during pregnancy up to 24 weeks.

CESAREAN SECTION- A C-section also called a cesarean section or cesarean birth ,cesarean delivery. Is a surgical procedure in which a baby is delivered through incisions in your abdomen and uterus. This is performed when a vaginal delivery is not possible or unsafe, or when the health of you (mother)or your baby is at risk. As a parent your goal is for your baby to arrive in the world healthy and safe. And if that means its by C-section the resulting incision which shows a miracle of life — your beautiful baby. Still it’ is natural to want to do everything you can to ensure that the wound heals well enough and to have minimum scar mark. Most C-section scars heal nicely leaving only a faint line just above the pubic hair line that's easily covered up by clothing underwear and bathing suits. The average stay in hospital after a caesarean is around 3 days. You may be able to go home sooner than this if both you and your baby are well.during your hospital stay you will be receiving painkillers to reduce any discomfort you have regular close contact with your baby and can start breastfeeding , Staff is there to encourage to get you out of bed and let you move around as soon as possible.you can eat and drink as soon as you feel hungry or thirsty. your wound (scar mark) will be covered with a sterile dressing for at least 24 hours. Your doctor will advice you post partum care and the suitable medication(painkillers).
